City Moves for 24 September 2018 – who’s switching jobs at RHI Magnesita, Saga and Wiggin?

RHI Magnesita

RHI Magnesita has nominated Ian Botha, currently CFO of Anglo American Platinum, has been nominated, as new CFO and finance director for appointment in the 2019 annual meeting. Ian will join the company on 1 April 2019. Octavio Lopes, will until his departure, focus on delivering the final steps of the merger between RHI and Magnesita. In the period until Ian Botha commences with the company, Eduardo Gotilla, the VP of corporate finance and investor relations will with immediate effect assume the role of acting CFO of RHI Magnesita. As the former CFO of Magnesita he has played a pivotal role in the integration of the finance organisation into RHI Magnesita, and also successfully led the refinancing of the company.

Saga

Saga, the UK’s specialist in products and services for life after 50, has appointed Julie Hopes as non-executive director with effect from 1 October. Bridget McIntyre will retire from the board of directors of Saga on 31 October while continuing in her role as chair and non-executive director of Saga Services. Julie has extensive experience of insurance with over 20 years in a variety of roles, mostly at RSA and then Tesco Bank, specialising in general insurance and predominantly in personal lines. She is highly customer-focused, with a breadth of functional, membership and affinity experience and a track record of driving growth. She is currently a non-executive director of Co-Operative Insurance, where she chairs the risk committee and is a member of the audit and remuneration committees. As Co-Operative Insurance operates predominantly within the personal lines segment of the motor and home insurance market, she will step down from these roles at the end of November 2018.

Wiggin

Media, technology and IP law firm Wiggin LLP has announced that Ceri Stoner, a corporate tax specialist, will join the firm as a partner in the corporate practice from 1 October. The hire continues the expansion of the firm’s corporate practice following the promotion of Jason Fisher to the partnership in April 2018. Ceri has particular expertise in relation to mergers and acquisitions, private equity and financing transactions, with significant experience in transaction structuring, corporate reorganisations and incentive arrangements for management and other employees in conjunction with a business sale or acquisition. She was previously a managing associate at Mishcon de Reya LLP, having trained and qualified at Ashurst.Ceri is a contributing author to LexisPSL Share Incentives. She is also a specialist speaker for LexisWebinars.
