City Moves for 2 December 2016 | Who’s switching jobs

Crowe Clark Whitehill

National audit, tax and advisory firm Crowe Clark Whitehill has appointed Jim Gee as head of forensic and counter-fraud services. With more than 25 years’ experience, Jim has worked with clients all over the world in key sectors including healthcare, natural resources and insurance. He joins the firm from PKF Littlejohn. Jim was the founding CEO of the NHS counter-fraud service, delivering more than £800m of savings and cutting the cost of fraud by 60 per cent, and has also held positions as senior adviser to the attorney-general, three secretaries of state and five ministers. Jim is visiting professor and chair of the Centre for Counter-Fraud Studies at the University of Portsmouth. He is also chair of the UK fraud costs measurement committee.

Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Chris Allen as general counsel, clients and products. He will join Standard Chartered from Barclays, where he is currently global head of regulatory policy and global head of legal for structural reform. Prior to his current role, Chris was Barclays’ global head of legal for markets and trading, based in London and Singapore. Before joining Barclays, Chris worked for Nasdaq and Baker & McKenzie. Chris will be responsible for the legal teams supporting corporate and institutional banking, commercial, retail, private banking and wealth management.

Mayer Brown

Mayer Brown has appointed Jay Doraisamy as a London-based partner in the pensions practice. Jay joins the firm from Dentons, where she was a partner in the pensions practice. Prior to Dentons, Jay headed the London pensions team at Eversheds. Jay’s work covers the full range of pensions advisory work including funding, benefit redesign projects, scheme closures and amendments, and defined benefit/contribution schemes. She has also been involved in the banking reform ring-fencing requirements and the impact of US Chapter 11 proceedings on UK pensions schemes. Jay has considerable experience advising trustees and the employers of large, complex pensions arrangements, including many household names. In addition, her advisory experience spans sectors such energy, banking, transport, chemicals, manufacturing and water.

Unigestion UK

Miles O’Connor has been appointed chairman of the board of Unigestion UK, based in London. Miles has previously held the roles of head of UK institutional and head of EMEA institutional at Schroder Investment Management, and has over 30 years of corporate management experience in Europe.
