23 Capital

23 Capital, a leading capital and solutions provider to the Sports, Music and Entertainment (SM&E) sectors headquartered in London, has announced the appointment of Jack MacDonald as the Head of Music and Entertainment Origination for the UK. Jack joins 23 Capital’s global team of music and entertainment specialists who work closely with artists and their managers, song writers, music publishers and record labels to deliver innovative finance solutions, supporting creativity and flexibility.

Since inception in 2014, 23 Capital has deployed and advised on over $2.55bn of transactions. Jack joins 23 Capital from Credit Suisse where he was a director running the Sports, Media and Entertainment desk for the UK private bank. During his tenure at Credit Suisse he increased the banks capability and appetite across these sectors and worked closely with global clients on innovative funding solutions. Before Credit Suisse, Jack spent three years at Goldman Sachs in Sydney and four at RBC Wealth Management in London.

Ayming

Ayming, the international business performance consultancy, has appointed Mark Smith as partner of the Innovation Incentives Practice, covering R&D Tax incentives and Grants. This hire follows the launch of Ayming’s new international R&D scheme comparison tool, The Benchmark.

Smith will spearhead the continued growth of Ayming’s Innovation Incentives team, by developing new business opportunities and overseeing successful client project delivery and Ayming’s relationship with HMRC. Smith joins from KPMG, where he was Director in the Innovation Reliefs and Incentives team, having worked there since 2006.

Howard Kennedy

Law firm Howard Kennedy has strengthened its disputes offering to clients following the hire of contentious insolvency and fraud litigation expert, Dominic Offord, into the partnership. Dominic joins the firm from Browne Jacobson, where he was the national head of commercial dispute resolution and insolvency. Dominic focuses on fraud and cross-border claims, specialising in civil fraud in particular. He has strong contacts in many of the off-shore jurisdictions, the USA and, increasingly, China.

Dominic also has extensive experience of representing local and foreign insolvency practitioners and stakeholders of financially distressed companies and has acted on some of the most large-scale and complex litigation in the cross-border insolvency arena in recent years. A highlight of Dominic’s career was advising the US SIPA trustee of Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities and Bernard L Madoff.
