City Moves for 13 March 2019 – Who’s switching jobs at CMC Markets, TP ICAP and Newgate Communications?

CMC Markets

CMC Markets has announced the appointment of Ahmed Soliman as senior relationship manager. Growing the company’s Dubai presence and working with the global institutional team located in London, Ahmed will be responsible both for new sales and ongoing relationship management in the region. Ahmed has in recent years worked with a number of institutional liquidity providers across the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East. He is proficient in both English and Arabic and will be liaising with entities including a range of market counterparties, introducing brokers and those institutions who are direct consumers of CMC’s liquidity.

TP ICAP

TP ICAP has announced that Mark Russell will be joining TP ICAP as chief commercial officer for credit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), reporting to Frits Vogels, chief executive of EMEA. Mark will join TP ICAP in the summer and brings a wealth of experience in helping businesses to grow and explore new opportunities and market structures. He will be responsible for evolving trading protocols and workflows to meet clients’ demands and offer innovative solutions in a challenging regulatory environment. In his most recent role as head of credit at Tradeweb in Europe, Mark was responsible for the launch of its European matched principal trading business and led the adoption of a new model to meet market changes. Prior to that he spent 19 years at UBS where he ran the electronic bond trading platform Bond Port, overseeing the build-out of the bond execution business and its role within the banking group.

Newgate Communications

Newgate Communications has appointed Dan Clay as managing parter of Newgate Research UK, a new business developed to offer Newgate clients integrated research services that complement its existing communications practice. Dan brings with him almost 20 years of experience as a social and market researcher. Prior to joining Newgate, Dan was an executive director and the head of qualitative research at the public sector research arm of Kantar, part of WPP. He has led high-profile research and evaluation projects for central government departments, national and international businesses and charities across a wide range of sectors including personal finance and financial services, transport and infrastructure, property and housing, education, employment and welfare. Dan is a trustee of the Social Research Association and a certified member of the Market Research Society.
