Who’s swapping jobs today?

Techmet

Techmet, a UK-based private industrial company that is building controlling or significant minority positions in world-class projects across the technology metal supply chain, today announces the appointment of Admiral Michael Mullen as chairman of its advisory board. Admiral Mullen was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States (2007-2011) and principal military advisor to both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. He presently serves on the board of directors of General Motors, Sprint, and the Bloomberg Philanthropies Foundation, and as an adjunct professor at Princeton University.

Admiral Mullen brings over 40 years of leadership experience with the US military, providing expertise on the key strategic threats to US national security. He has advised both governments and businesses on a broad range of strategic issues, including how business trends and the economic health of the US direct impact on national security

Lilium

Lilium, the disruptive aviation startup developing a revolutionary on-demand air mobility service, has announced today the appointment of Oliver Walker-Jones as head of communications. Oliver will focus on Lilium’s growth on a global scale. He will be responsible for the communication of all elements of the business, in the innovative and exciting category of mobility which is powered by Lilium.

Prior to his recent appointment, Oliver held the position of head of communications at Rolls-Royce where he led the global communications function for their aerospace division. Before this, he spent several years with Lafargeholcim as both head of external affairs and chief of staff. Earlier in his career, Oliver held positions at Walmart, Blackstone, and the CBI – the UK’s leading business lobby – having graduated with a degree in Social and Political Science from Cambridge University.

Noted as an International Rising Star by Campaigns and Elections magazine for his political campaigning work on both sides of the Atlantic, Oliver was subsequently named as one of PR Week’s 30 under 30 in 2015.

On the dot

On the dot, the machine learning-driven last mile delivery start-up, and part of the CitySprint Group, has announced it has appointed Thorsten Runge as its International Director. Thorsten will drive the company’s global strategy to help retailers expand and compete on an international scale, starting with the US market. Thorsten brings years of experience having led Amazon and eBay’s delivery innovation strategy for almost ten years.
