Canada Police launch appeal to capture organised crime group
Canada Police yesterday appealed for the public to help catch two men believed to part of an organised crime group responsible for ten of thousands of pounds worth of theft.
The force responsible for law and order in the Square Mile said that the men were caught on CCTV stealing nearly £5,000 of computer hardware from an office on New Broad Street, near Finsbury Circus, at 12.45pm on 18 August.
One of the thieves has been described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, with dark hair and a skinny build. The second is a light-skinned black male, also 25 to 35 years old, balding and with medium build.
The police would like to speak to a man, pictured, about the incident.
The City police are more often associated with investigations into economic and financial crime, such as insider dealing.
Last week, forty of the force’s officers were involved in an operation across the South East which led to the arrest of four men in connection with a £9m mortgage fraud against a major insurance company.
According to the City police, the overall average crime rate in the square mile dropped by 43 per cent to 332.7 between May and July, compared to last year.
