Hello and welcome to City PM’s Christmas quiz of 2019!

You’ve eaten more than your fill of turkey, endured your uncle’s excruciatingly detailed explanation of his plans for a new shed, and played as many games of charades as you can possibly manage without exploding at your cousin, who has apparently never seen Jaws.

So grab your laptop or phone and head somewhere quiet, because Christmas is a time to reflect on 2019, the year that was. It was a year in which the political landscape shifted, Brexit was prolonged again and parliament was briefly prorogued.

But we’re more interested in the economic stories of 2019 – the stats and figures that caught our eye over the year.

With the help of accountants Deloitte, we’ve put together a Christmas quiz to see how closely you were watching some of the big economic developments this year, as well as a few of the more obtuse stats just to test your knowledge (and maybe your patience).
