Choose The Black Run for a painless trip to the slopes

ALL SKIERS know the feeling. Waking the family at four o’clock in the morning, squeezing them into the car alongside bulky bags of equipment, only to arrive at the airport and find an hour long check-in queue waiting for you. The children are tetchy, and towers of luggage are balanced precariously atop a trolley that is creaking under the weight. And then the anxiety kicks in: will my luggage actually make it to the other end? The slopes make for a great family holiday – getting to them can be a military operation.

One company has come up with an idea to ease the logistical difficulties of skiing holidays. The Black Run Alpine Courier delivers your luggage from your home to your hotel or chalet. Travellers sometimes view courier services as an extravagance, but The Black Run’s prices are competitive with budget airlines. To have a single ski bag and 20kg bag couriered would cost only £85 – less than a lot of airlines charge for the excess baggage, and minus any anxieties about damaged or lost items. The idea is that you can travel luggage-free, saving time and money.

Booking a courier will make your life considerably easier, says The Black Run’s Gavin Corbett: “People think about which ski school to book or what restaurants to reserve before they go on holiday. If you book The Black Run at the same time you book your flights, you can take a lot of the hassle and anxiety out of travelling, allowing you to look forward to a relaxing holiday and painless journey.”

The personalised service delivers to the French Alps, covering the main resorts of Val D’Isere, Tignes, Sainte Foy, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Chamonix, Morzine, Les Gets and Les 3 Vallees. And door to door means door to door. Once you have booked with The Black Run they send you your security luggage tag and labels. They will collect your luggage from your home or office and courier it via the channel tunnel to your holiday accommodation where it will await your arrival. They send a text saying that it has reached France, and another letting you know that it’s arrived at the resort. Continual tracking updates are available for those who want them.

The Black Run company has hands in both the UK and at the destination to ensure the luggage is cared for properly. The company says it aims to provide a personalised service. As Corbett says: “This is a serious business where we like to get to know our clients and those people who recommend us. Delivering personal and professional service to everyone is paramount to the success of the business.”
