Chief executive is the US’s most coveted job – while blogger is the “best” job
City PM readers tend to be a distinguished lot, with many residing in the corner office.
And now it appears you, dear reader, may also have the US's most coveted job – after a new ranking showed the most popular "dream job" is chief executive.
The study, by US job search site CareerCast, most people wanted to be a chief executive – followed by photographer, vet and (weirdly) oddsmaker.

Meanwhile, in a decidedly millennial twist, blogger was named as the "best" job, followed by GP, chief exec, teacher, data scientist and photographer.
At the other end of the ranking was telemarketer, seen as the worst job thanks to its low pay and low growth. Rubbish collector and assembly line worker were also ranked among the worst.
CareerCast said when it came to ranking their ideal job, the most important factor was salary.
"High pay correlates with the prevalence of respondents who saw cheif executive as a great job. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, chief executives earn an annual median salary of $175,110."
Not into the idea of being chief executive? You could do worse than going to work for Rolls-Royce, which was cited in a report last week as the UK's most attractive employer.
