Newsreader Jon Snow is stuck in a lift at the Channel 4 headquarters on Horseferry Rd. He has been captured on camera in his new, vertical prison but appears to be in good spirits – waving and smiling.

The twitterati have leapt behind his cause, calling for his freedom and asking for swift action to free the popular newsreader.

All we can hope is the silver-haired journalist is freed before his evening slot at 7pm.
