Go “live” to win races
If you’ve always dreamed of being a racing driver but your race-winning has remained stubbornly virtual, the fourth Nissan PlayStation GT Academy 2012 contest is now “live”. Entrants have eight weeks to complete eight PS3 Gran Turismo virtual driving contests. Shortlisted drivers ultimately get to undertake real-world driver training at Silverstone before the winner is picked.

Get the low-down on eco-cars at EcoVelocity
The capital’s low-carbon motorshow EcoVelocity is underway at ExCeL, London. If you’re not yet convinced about the reality of commuting in electric and hybrid vehicles then why not test-drive cars including the Vauxhall Ampera, Jazz Hybrid, Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt and Peugeot 508 RXH Hybrid. Other eco-friendly models on display include the Fisker Karma, Lightning GT and the Tesla.

Nissan to sell Juke-R racer
Nissan has announced it is to sell its Juke-R racer, albeit in very limited numbers. The 3.8-litre, 160mph Juke-R made its global debut in Dubai in January and though it was meant to be a one-off concept car, Nissan has already sold three of them. The 545bhp Juke-R will be built using the drivetrain and chassis of the MY12 GT-R and will be, ahem, expensive.
