CITROEN REDUCES COST OF EVS
Driving EVs is gradually becoming more affordable. Citroen and Peugeot have slashed the prices of their C-Zero and iOn models so that each car now has an on-the-road price of £26,216 (down from £33,155). The government’s £5,000 plug-in car grant reduces the price to just £21,216. Contract hire rental rates start from £249 per month.

NEW VW PASSAT ALLTRACK
If you’re dithering between buying an estate or an SUV, you might want to test drive the new VW Passat Alltrack. Combining estate practicality with the drive system and higher ride height of a SUV, the Passat Alltrack has tough bodywork and comes with Sat Nav, DAB radio, parking sensors and even a Driver Alert System. On sale at the end of May.

PEUGEOT ADDS TWO HYBRIDS TO 508 RANGE
Peugeot is adding a hybrid option to its 508 saloon and top-of-the-range RXH. The two new models combine a 2.0-litre HDi 163 diesel engine which powers the front wheels with a 37bhp electric motor that drives the rear wheels. Both cars offer four-wheel drive, 200bhp output but emit ultra-low CO2 levels, so they benefit from lowest-in-sector taxation.
