PEUGEOT’S FULL HYBRID DIESEL
This is the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 Crossover, the first full hybrid diesel production car. With its 2.0 litre diesel engine plus a 37bhp electric motor, the car can achieve up to 74.4mpg while emitting only 99g/km of CO2. When it’s launched in January next year it will run in four modes: ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle), Four-Wheel Drive, Auto and Sport and the zero emission all-electric mode.

NEW HONDA JAZZ
This is the latest hybrid version of the UK’s top selling Honda Jazz. The petrol-electric supermini combines a 87bhp 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol unit and an electric motor so that it will be able to run on electric power alone over short distances. No word yet on mileage and emissions – figures will be announced at the upcoming Paris motor show – but expect both to be very good.

CHEVY’S HANDSOME SEVEN SEATER
Chevrolet is entering the European MPV crossover segment with its car the Orlando, which will be launched in Paris. Seven-seaters are usually all about boxy practicality, but somehow Chevrolet has managed to create a car that’s actually pretty good-looking as well. Inside, unusual theatre-style seating means second and third row passengers get to see the road ahead too.
