VAUXHALL’S INSIGNIA VXR IS UNLEASHED
Vauxhall has introduced a package to de-restrict the Insignia VXR so that it’s capable of 170mph. Called the ‘Unlimited’ option the package removes the ‘regular’ Insignia VXR’s 155mph restrictor and costs just £250. Available for the hatch, saloon and sports tourer versions it means the Insignia VXR Unlimited’s turbocharged, 321bhp, 2.8-litre V6 engine can push the car to 60mph in just 5.6 sec.

DARK KNIGHT: PORSCHE UNVEIL NEW-LOOK BLACK CAYMAN
This is Porsche’s latest limited run model, the Cayman S Black Edition. On sale in July, the car has a more powerful engine (up by 10bhp to 330hp, so that 0-62mph can be reached in 5.1sec), bigger wheels and tyres and more equipment as standard than the regular Cayman S. Only available in black, the interior is all black and even has darker instrument graphics.

MEET MERCEDES-BENZ’ NEW CONVERTIBLE SLS AMG SUPERCAR
Mercedes-Benz has released images of the convertible version of its SLS AMG supercar. According to Mercedes, the SLS AMG Roadster was developed in tandem with the coupe. The roadster loses the SLS AMG’s famous gullwing doors in favour of a folding fabric roof. The car will have its speed limited to 197mph when it is introduced at September’s Frankfurt motor show.
