Outsourcing giant Bunzl showed no signs of stopping its spending spree as it announced two further acquisitions today.

French first aid product making firms Prorisk and GM Equipement and Saebe Compagniet, a Danish distributor of cleaning and hygiene related products, will be absorbed into FTSE 100 group.

Although transaction values were not revealed, the firms generate in the region of £19m of combined revenues.

While Bunzl expects to complete on the purchase of the French firms by January, the Saebe Compagniet deal is subject to Danish competition authority sign-off.

Frank van Zanten, Bunzl's boss said:

The purchase of Prorisk and GM Equipement will add further scale to our safety business in France and increase the breadth of our product offering in this important market. The proposed acquisition of Saebe Compagniet will complement our existing cleaning & hygiene operations in Denmark and extend and expand our business there.

The purchases follow news that Bunzl completed on the purchase three firms last month.

These included Silwell, a Hungarian disposable food service distributor, UK-based Tri-Star Packaging Supplies and Blyth, a Prague-headquartered distributor of personal protection equipment.

Earlier this year, Bunzl purchased Mo Ha Ge Mommsen Handelsgesellschaft mbH and Inkozell Zellstoff-Vertrieb GmbH, two firms engaged in the sale of healthcare-related consumables.

At the end of last year, the group picked up Austrian firm Meier Verpackungen GmbH, which distributes customer specific packaging products to food processors throughout Austria.
