Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak pinged by NHS Test and Trace but no need to isolate
Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace as contacts of someone who has tested positive for Covid but will be participating in a daily contact testing pilot to allow them to continue to work from Downing Street, No 10 has said.
The announcement follows the disclosure on Saturday that Health Secretary Sajid Javid had been confirmed as testing positive for the virus.
The Prime Minister is reported to have had a lengthy meeting with Mr Javid at No 10 on Friday.
Chancelllor Rishi Sunak has also been contacted by Test and Trace and will also be taking part in the contact testing pilot.
A No 10 spokesman said: “They will be conducting only essential government business during this period.”
