BILL OF THE WEEK

AHH, it’s the little luxuries in life that count, isn’t it? These six weary ladies popped into the Palm Court restaurant at The Langham hotel on Friday, to treat themselves after a hard day’s retail therapy in the boutiques of Bond Street.

All six opted for the luxurious Bijoux afternoon tea – Cornish crab and avocado, fois gras and passionfruit and cream cheese and truffle sandwiches, as well as “Cartier” love collection cookies and “Asprey” black and white Battenberg cake.

Of course, no sumptuous afternoon spread would be complete without the requisite glasses of bubbly, and our guests spared no expense with two bottles of £600 Cristal 2002 champagne. Who said decadence was dead?
