Beyond Crystal Seas: Nassau’s Festive and Culinary Oasis Just Hours from the UK

Nassau & Paradise Island in The Bahamas are buzzing, and we are excited to invite travellers from the UK to explore the destination this year.  With nonstop flights with Virgin Atlantic and British Airways, UK travelers have convenient access and luxury accommodations at their fingertips.  Our twin paradises inspire exploration and adventure with Bahamian culture, art and celebrations, like Junkanoo – the Bahamian carnival that we celebrate on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. This spring the destination will host its second annual Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival at Atlantis Paradise Island March 13-17. Featuring a star-studded lineup including Martha Stewart and Wyclef Jean, visitors will experience walk-around tastings, cooking demos, chef meet-and-greets, multi-course dining experiences and live entertainment unlike any other destination. This is only one of a number of exciting culinary events that the destination is becoming well known for and with the plethora of celebrity chefs, as well as the great local cuisine, Nassau & Paradise Island is truly becoming known as the food capital of the Caribbean.

The UK has always been of huge importance to The Bahamas.  As a former British colony, our history is deeply rooted in British history and there are many synergies, traditions and the way of life (i.e. our Parliamentary System and Legal System) between our two countries.  Importantly however, visitors from the UK spend a longer period of time on average in the destination and are more inclined to visit our Out Islands too, which has a tremendous impact on those small island communities.

For a glimpse of our lifestyle through the lens of locals, readers can check out our social media feeds where we have a wonderful group of storytellers giving their authentic insights.

We look forward to welcoming you to our gin-clear shores!
