Betting: Hot-shot Harry Kane can carry Spurs to Wembley

It's been so long since Tottenham played Millwall, Gary Lineker was leading the line for Spurs, and Harry Kane was still three years away from being born.

Lineker netted the only goal in a 1-0 win back in April 1990, and as Tottenham fans prepare for a rare visit to South Bermondsey for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final, they certainly have a striker capable of filling his illustrious boots.

Kane is in the form of his career so far, with eight goals in his last four games, taking his total to 24 in 29 in all competitions this season.

He notched a hat-trick against Fulham in the last round – one of three trebles he’s managed since the turn of the year.

Keep this form up, and he might even appear on a crisp advert.

His Spurs side have made winning the FA Cup their priority after double European disappointment, and with Premier League success now unlikely.

They haven’t won this competition since the days of Lineker either – Terry Venables was their manager when they last won in 1991.

Current boss Mauricio Pochettino has fielded strong XIs throughout – scoring 11 goals in their three previous rounds, and another first-choice team is expected on Sunday.

They might need it against a Millwall team who have already dumped three Premier League sides out of the competition.

The Lions’ success has been built on their defence – they didn’t concede once against Bournemouth, Watford or Leicester, and have only conceded two goals in their last 13 games.

The League One club still harbour hopes of automatic promotion, though the play-offs may be more realistic for the sixth placed side who are unbeaten since December.

Spurs won’t find it easy, but with Kane in this form, I think they’ll find a way.

A Tottenham 1-0 win is 8/1 with 188BET.

I certainly don’t think there’ll be many goals in it, with Millwall’s organised certain to sit deep and protect young keeper Tom King’s net.

I’ll be selling total goals at 3.3 with Sporting Index.
