Betting: France set for lift-off against Switzerland

France have been late to their own party in the opening two matches of Euro 2016, relying on last-minute magic in wins against Romania and Albania.

It may have been far from convincing, but those results put Les Bleus safely through to the next round with a game to go.

With the pressure off, we might finally see France register a performance befitting that of a pre-tournament favourite. So far only Dimitri Payet has matched the host’s sky-high expectations.

Coach Didier Deschamps has also shown he is not scared of dropping big names, with both Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann starting on the bench against Albania.

Competition for places is intense and there is no sign France will take their foot of the accelerator against Switzerland.

The Swiss sneaked past Albania in their opening match, and had the better of a 1-1 draw with Romania on Wednesday.

The new tournament format means those four points could well be enough to see the team into the second round – regardless of what happens against France.

There is a danger of Switzerland taking a “job done” attitude, especially if the result in the Romania versus Albania game is looking favourable.

I’d suggest taking the 19/20 with Betway on a France win.

With Anthony Martial, Kingsley Coman and Co. looking to secure a place in the team ahead of the knock-out stages, France might finally let loose.

I would advise buying total goals with Sporting Index at 2.55.

France to win 19/20 (Betway)

Buy total goals 2.55 (Sporting Index)
