Bank is only being used for exit and interchange due to overcrowding after parts of the Jubilee line was out of action for over an hour this morning.

The Jubilee line went down at 7:45am because of signal failures in the Stratford area, and only returned at 9am.

Initially the line was suspended between Canary Wharf and Stratford as engineers attempted to solve the line, but by 8:20 the entire line was switched off.

There are severe delays as the network is now under pressure to get back to normal.

Commuters have been advised to seek alternative routes, including using the DLR, Southeastern and Thameslink Trains and the London Overground.

Some passengers complained on social media of journeys taking more than two hours. Given the timing, many commuters have pointed out the extent of the travel chaos despite this week's Tube strikes having been called off.

Separately, Transport for London's offices have been evacuated this morning.

All the TfL Twitter accounts, including the individual Tube lines, tweeted about the incident.

A TfL spokeswoman confirmed that the building had been evacuated owing to a fire alert from a shop under the building. Staff have since returned.
