British Airways (BA) has announced a collaboration with American Airlines and American Express to provide free Covid tests to business travellers flying between the UK and the US.

“Ensuring corporate travellers have access to efficient, accurate testing is one of the key components to ramping up business travel across the trans-Atlantic corridor,” BA’s head of global sales Mark Muren said.

“We’re eager to give our mutual customers peace of mind that they will have what they need to fulfill an important requirement as they return to conducting business.”

The news comes less than 10 days after the US reopened its borders to double-jabbed foreign travellers. On 8 November, when restrictions eased, UK carriers BA and Virgin Atlantic performed a dual take-off from London Heathrow.

Commenting on the synchronised take-off, BA’s boss Sean Doyle said it was the result of “putting rivalry aside,” City PM reported.
