TOULON full-back Delon Armitage has been banned for 12 weeks for using foul and abusive language towards Leicester Tigers fans following a European Champions Cup clash earlier this month.

The former England full-back pleaded not guilty at a misconduct hearing yesterday but a disciplinary committee ruled he had “conducted himself in an unsportsmanlike manner”, and can only play again from 9 March.

This incident occurred before team-mate Martin Castrogiovanni burst into a post-match press conference and launched an expletive-laden rant at Leicester boss Richard Cockerill. The Italy prop has been slapped with four-game ban, suspended until April 2016, and told he must make a €10,000 donation to charity after admitting misconduct charges.
