Tech giant Amazon is ramping up its battle with Deliveroo and UberEats, extending its food delivery service to more locations in London.

Amazon Restaurant has added more than 20 new areas to the list of locations it delivers food to, from restaurants such as Strada and Pod.

That includes Canary Wharf – welcome news to any City folk – Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush in the west of the capital and Camden and Holloway to the north among them.

It has also added a further 80 restaurants since it launched in September, promising to deliver within the hour.

“The Amazon Restaurants delivery service via Prime Now offers our customers a fast delivery option of quality restaurant food, and we are delighted to bring it to more areas of London,” said the UK's head of Restaurants Al Wilkinson.

“Our team have continued hand-picked a selection of the best quality local restaurants in London, and with this expansion we’re excited to be helping more small businesses start offering home delivery for the very first time.”
