All Blacks appeal Mealamu ban
RUGBY UNION: New Zealand will appeal the four-week ban handed out to Keven Mealamu after the hooker was adjudged to have headbutted England captain Lewis Moody during last weekend’s 26-16 win at Twickenham. “He is not a dirty player, he never has been. This is a case we’ll go to the death on,” said All Blacks assistant coach Steve Hansen. “Everyone knows it’s not in his nature to do that and everyone knows if Kevvy says he didn’t do it, he didn’t do it.”
