A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service told City PM: “We were called at 9.42am to reports of a road traffic collision at Parliament Square SW1.

“We sent a single responder in a car, an incident response officer, an ambulance crew and London’s air ambulance to the scene. The first of our medics was on the scene in under three minutes.

“We treated a woman for head and leg injuries and she was taken to a major trauma centre by ground ambulance – escorted by the doctor from London’s air ambulance.”

The incident is also affecting traffic, as Parliament Square is currently closed southbound. Transport for London warned of knock-on delays.
