Adobe plans growth despite UK tech slump

US software giant Adobe is to expand its London office, despite reporting a drop in UK tech sales.

Adobe is set to double the size of its current London headquarters, building a new sales office to cover Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

The maker of Photoshop recently reported demand for electronics had plummeted in the UK following the Brexit vote.

Demand for computers and TVs turned negative in August, dropping 10 per cent, according to data from Adobe and the Office for National Statistics.

Garrett Ilg, Adobe president for EMEA, is relocating to London as part of the expansion and told the Telegraph Adobe “did not blink” after June’s Brexit vote.

Recent fears that Brexit could threaten London’s position as Europe’s tech hub have receded after reports that startups have found it difficult to put plans to move into practice.

Tech giant Apple gave heart to investors last month after it announced plans for a new London headquarters.
