Strikes on the underground last week lead to 5.2m wasted hours, a survey will say today. The data, from Citrix Online, says that London’s workers spent an extra 1.3m hours – or 188,000 working days – getting into work last Wednesday, the first day of the strike.

A third of London-based employees were disrupted by the strik, with 5 per cent working from home, 2 per cent taking the day off and 1 per cent off sick.
