Former Crinkley Bottom resident and Deal or No Deal supremo Noel Edmonds is set to take his fight with Lloyds Bank into the Australian jungle.

Edmonds is set to use his I’m A Celebrity TV platform to blast the bank, which he blames for the failure of his business.

His lawyer, Jonathan Coad of Keystone Law, tweeted today that he had served Lloyds’ lawyers at Herbert Smith Freehills with legal papers relating to the £30m claim.

Edmonds blames a fraud in the Reading office of HBOS for the failure of his Unique Group of companies.

He is set to joining ITV’s I’m A Celebrity TV cast in Australia this week.

According to a recording given to the Press Association today, Edmonds said: "It's not going to do any harm to be in the jungle on ITV at peak time every single day for a few weeks."

Coad said: “The bank has consistently said that Noel Edmonds was not a victim of crime …Based on the evidence which I have seen, and a judgment of ex-senior police officers who have worked on this case, and a senior criminal barrister, I regard the evidence that Noel was the victim of a fraud as overwhelming.”

A spokesperson for Lloyds said:  “We have received Mr Edmonds’ legal letter and we will review the contents before responding. We fully understand the anguish he feels at the failure of his businesses, but on the information we have seen so far we simply cannot agree that this is the result of actions taken by the former HBOS business."

Adding: "We cannot allow ourselves to be pressed into paying out money without cause just because an individual uses their celebrity status to attack us."
