Donald Trump has added top tech firepower to a group of business leaders who will advise him on economic matters.

Uber boss Travis Kalanick and the entrepreneur behind Tesla and Space X, Elon Musk, have joined the President-elect's Strategic and Policy Forum which will involve meeting with the President frequently.

Pepsico boss Indra Nooyi will also join the group established earlier this month and chaired by Blackstone chairman, chief executive and co-founder Stephen Schwarzman.

The controversial soon-to-be President will meet with several tech executives later today at Trump Towers, including representatives from Apple, Facebook and Google.

Kalanick, often not far from controversy himself, and Musk will join other top business leaders on the forum team which includes JP Morgan's Jamie Dimon, Walt Disney's Bob Iger and General Motor's Mary Barra.

Musk has been outspoken against Trump saying he was "probably not the right guy" in the run up to polling day. Kalanick has been more tight-lipped on the businessman turned politician, but told university students “Oh my god, Donald trump’s gonna win. I’m going to move to China if Donald Trump wins.”
