Brexit memo shows UK may try to have its cake and eat it
The UK could be pushing for a Brexit strategy that allows it to "have its cake and eat it", according to a memo carried by a political aide and snapped by a freelance photographer outside 10 Downing Street.
The photographer tweeted the picture and asked: "Is this the first insight into Brexit seen going into No10 from the Brexit/cabinet office women holding was with Mark Field MP?" (sic)

"What's the model? Have cake and eat it," the memo reads.
The note says "manufacturing (is) relatively straightforward" and appears to show that Britain could try to obtain a "Canada plus" deal.
However, it also points to difficulties regarding a "very French negotiating team" and bears the warning that "headlines won't change for now".
The leaked information followed news that the government is facing another legal battle over Brexit, as think tank British Influence seeks a judicial review of the government's position regarding taking the UK out of the Single Market.
