Betting: Foxes set for another tricky away day at Stamford Bridge

HEAVY is the head that wears the Premier League crown – or at least according to the last two champions it is.

After a meltdown at the start of the season that saw them drop as low as 16th last December, 2015 title winners Chelsea ‘recovered’ to finish in 10th.

Leicester – the most unlikely victors of all time – haven’t fared much better in their own championship defence, and currently sit in 12th with just two wins from their first seven matches.

The pair face off tomorrow lunch-time in a match that could set the tone for the remainder of this campaign.

Results depending, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea could end the weekend as high as third, or as low as eighth.

While the form of Premier League top scorer Diego Costa has made them look impressive in their four victories thus far, the Blues were totally outplayed in defeats by Liverpool and Arsenal.

A win over the champions would settle a few nerves at Stamford Bridge, and ease fears of another season horribilis.

Likewise, the Foxes also stand at a crossroads in their season.

While wins over Club Brugge and Porto have got their debut Champions League campaign off to a dream start, their domestic form hasn’t been so good.

They’ve lost all three matches on the road this term (they were only defeated three times home or away last season), and suffered 4-1 thrashings at the hands of Liverpool and Manchester United.

The loss of N’Golo Kante has been a huge blow to Leicester this year – which will be put into sharp focus by the presence of the dynamic midfielder in Chelsea’s ranks tomorrow.

Research from social betting app EveryFan show a fifth of Chelsea fans bet against their team – though I suggest backing them tomorrow at 4/7 with Betway.

Leicester have looked all at sea in their away matches this year, and conceded four times to Chelsea in their EFL Cup clash last month.

With Costa hitting his stride, I think the Blues will have too much for their former manager Claudio Ranieri.

I will be buying goals at 3.1 with Sporting Index.

Pointers

Chelsea     4/7 (Betway)

Buy total goals     3.1 (Sporting Index)
