Way to kill that #FridayFeeling: The internet combusts as Nestle axes one of the Quality Street sweets

One of the Quality Streets has gone forever, and people are outraged.

The Toffee Deluxe has been axed from the iconic chocolate box after customers complained there were too many toffees in the mix. The company will be introducing a "Honeycomb Crunch" in its place – the first time a new chocolate has been added to the box since the Milk Chocolate Block came onto the scene in 2007.

The round penny toffee and the chocolate covered finger are safe. But for some the loss of the Toffee Deluxe means "Christmas is dead".

Now that the Toffee Deluxe is gone Christmas is dead to me. Thanks Quality Street.

The Toffee Deluxe will still be sold as part of special toffee packs. But an online petition has already been set up to fight for the Toffee Deluxe's right to be included in the main Quality Street packs.

The petition reads: "Sweets for your sweet and sugar for your honey, you removed the toffee deluxe and made us feel funny.

"The deluxe is a treat that's existed for years and with a quick switch it's now disappeared.

"Oh Nestle we ask you to reconsider your choice, keep the toffee deluxe, it's really quite nice."

Nestle, don't leave us in flux please give us back our toffee deluxe. https://t.co/h6NZZLjRzE
