Covington

Elaine Whiteford is set to join Covington as a partner in the European dispute resolution practice in the firm’s London office. Elaine’s practice focuses on litigation, including contentious competition law matters and follow-on damages litigation, challenges to regulatory decisions, cartel and other regulatory investigations. Over the last decade, she has been involved in many of the most significant competition damages cases brought in England before the High Court, the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. In addition, she has extensive experience in advising clients on investigations by all the major European competition regulators.

PwC

Lindsay J’afari-Pak has been appointed as PwC’s UK insurance tax market leader. She succeeds Colin Graham who will focus on his role as global insurance tax leader, having led the UK practice since 2011.
Having started her career with PwC, Lindsay has spent time at law firm Herbert Smith, as well as AXA UK and Resolution, before returning to PwC as a partner in 2013. Since then she has led the UK firm’s tax services to the life insurance industry. She is also a director on the board of the financial services member group TheCityUK, and a member of the corporate development board of the charity Rosa, the only UK-wide fund exclusively for women.

Grant Thornton

Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton has appointed Andy Morgan as its new head of corporate finance advisory, replacing Ali Sharifi who has led the team for the past two years. Andy joined Grant Thornton as a lead advisory partner in 2012. He has significant experience across the technology, media and telecommunications sector, advising on a number of high profile and cross border transactions. Andy has a particular focus on software and IT Services and fintech; and works with a range of clients including large multinationals, mid-sized corporates, entrepreneurs and private equity firms, across a variety of sectors. Andy brings significant leadership experience to the role, in managing and building both sector and regional corporate finance business in the UK.

T. Rowe Price

Global asset manager T. Rowe Price has added Matthew Jenkins to its UK intermediary team as head of strategic partners. In his new role, Matthew will help extend T. Rowe Price’s reach into the advisory and platform market as the group looks set to unveil its OEIC fund range in the coming months. Matthew will spearhead the firm's relationships with platforms, life companies, fund ratings agencies and large national advisory firms. He joins from Neptune Investment Management, where he has been since 2007, latterly as head of advisory sales and strategic partners. Prior to Neptune, Matthew held roles at MetLife and Scottish Widows.
