London Bridge delays expected until 1pm as signalling failures, broken down train continue to disrupt train services

Commuters going to – or through – London Bridge were stuck with severe delays this morning as signalling problems played havoc with Southeastern services.

Trains were being delayed by as much as an hour with Southeastern saying some services would be diverted to "other London stations".

The train operator initially said disruption would last until 9am, but this was revised back to midday, and then 1pm, after a broken down train further exacerbated the issues.

Passengers complained that their trains were stuck outside the station as they put up with delays for the third day in a row, marking every working day since the start of 2016.

Luckily some people still had a sense of humour about it..

We send people to space yet we can't get a train from outside of London into London Bridge. @Se_Railway

Network Rail apologised for today's delays but has yet to comment on the wider issue of ongoing chaos, which now dates back more than year.

#LondonBridge Apologies to everybody affected. Our engineers are on site and continue to work to resolve the problem. @nationalrailenq

Trains to and from Waterloo were also suffering from delays.
