Twickenham will share NFL hosting duties with Wembley and Tottenham after the Rugby Football Union (RFU) secured a three-year deal to host at least three games at the home of England rugby starting next year.

Wembley has already committed to hosting at least two games a season until 2020 and Tottenham will stage at least two games at its new stadium from 2018, meaning UK gridiron fans have a guaranteed 19 games to look forward to over the next five years.

NFL's executive vice-president Mark Waller said:

We are committed to continuing to grow our sport in the UK and believe that adding Twickenham Stadium to our roster of host venues in London is further evidence of that commitment.

Chancellor George Osborne and Mayor Boris Johnson have both signalled their support for a London NFL franchise, following the success of the International Series at Wembley which has expanded to three games a year last year and is estimated to have given London a £45m economic boost since its arrival in 2007.
