Queen’s Birthday Flypast: Red Arrows, Chinooks, Spitfires and Hurricanes to fly over Buckingham Palace

Get ready flypast fans, there's a big one coming up to celebrate the Queen's Birthday.

Starting at 1pm tomorrow, aircraft including two Chinooks, two Spitfires, two Hurricanes and the Red Arrows – as well as many more – will fly over Buckingham Palace in commemoration of the Queen's official birthday. 
 
Beforehand the flypast will form up at Southwold, Suffolk and pass over Ipswich, Colchester and Chelmsford before reaching the London City Control Zone south of Stapleford aerodrome.

It will continue via RAF Northolt, RAF Halton and disperse near to RAF Brize Norton area. 
 
Rehearsals have been taking place this week for the big event, which comes less than a fortnight after Elizabeth II celebrated 62 years on the throne.

The Flypast includes the following aircraft: Two Chinooks, Puma, Sea King, Dakota, two Spitfires, two Hurricanes, two Typhoons, Hercules, two King Airs, a C-17 Globemaster, Bae 146 E-3D Sentry, two Tornados a A330 Voyager and the Red Arrows.

Earlier in the day a special Trooping of the Colour will take place on Horse Guards Parade at 10:30am. A royal 41-gun salute will be fired in Green Park at 12:52pm, followed by 62 guns at the appropriately-named Gun Wharf, near to the Tower of London, at 1pm.
