Three of the top 10 business schools in the world are based in the UK, according to a new university ranking guide.

The QS world universities rankings for 2015 has named London Business School as the world's top university for business and management studies, based on a combination of its academic reputation, reputation among employers and the number of research citations given to an average research paper.

Alumni from the London Business School have included bosses at HSBC and Marks and Spencer. With such a stellar reputation, it's no surprise a recent study found it to be in possession of the MBA course with the richest graduates.

Oxford and LSE also appear in the world's top 10 universities for business, while Harvard follows the London Business School in second place.

For accounting and finance, the London Business School fares less well; ranked ninth behind Cambridge, LSE and Oxford.

Yet the university is awarded the top spot for its MBA, ranked the best on the planet by QS. Naturally, Oxford and Cambridge also feature in the top 10.

Warwick Business School's online MBA as the second-best in the world behind the IE Business School in Spain, while Manchester Business School, Oxford Brookes and the Open University also offer MBAs ranked among the world's best.

Yet even if studying in your sweatpants from the comfort of your couch, MBAs don't come cheap, with Warwick Business School's costing $35,128 (£22,631).
