“I will miss Top Gear” – Jeremy Clarkson

Jeremy Clarkson has used his Sun column to say he will miss his job hosting Top Gear.

It is the first time Clarkson has written a column since he was booted off the programme for allegedly punching a producer, during a “fracas”. He said:

Heartfelt thanks to all those who have written to say how much they will miss me on Top Gear

It's not as much, however, as I'll miss being there.

He went into no further details. On 10 March Clarkson was suspended by the BBC, which sparked large protests and a petition, signed by over 1m people. The affair culminated in blogger Guido Fawkes driving a tank to Broadcasting House.

The fracas is said to have occurred in a Yorkshire hotel when Clarkson was not given hot food after a day’s filming. This spurred an internal investigation culminating in Clarkson’s contract not being renewed.
