Uber users in Singapore can hail a Lamborghini or a Maserati

Commuters in Singapore can now ride in a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder or Maserati GranTurismo, after taxi app Uber added the supercars to its fleet there.

Uber has partnered with luxury car rental company Dream Drive for a trial period which runs until April 20. However, the taxi app warned customers it expects demand will be high and thus availability limited.

However, the rides certainly aren't cheap. Customers will have to cough up S$200 (£98) for the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and S$165 for the Maserati GranTurismo Coupe, on top of a S$7 per minute charge.

App users will be able to request a supercar by moving the slider to either the Lamborghini or the Maserati icon, and pressing “set pick-up location".

"If a car is available it will come directly to you and you will be riding to your destination in style," Uber said.
